Brent's belated bday show
Solo on walkin shreds and he even throw in a lil half drunk scat. He was peaking in so many way fall of 89.

A good, mellow show
This one's interesting. The show is consistently well played with less flubs and miscues than some better shows from this tour, but the intensity is a

little subdued, more of a slow, controlled smoldering that never breaks to an open flame. Things pick up steam with Tennessee Jed (some nice interplay between Jerry and Bob in the Jam), and Jerry's midi-horn riffing during Let it Grow is another first-set highlight. There's nothing particularly off in the second set, although it seems Brent forgets some words on We Can Run. Although I think he makes up for it with his impassioned delivery. I know some people dislike Brent's songwriting contributions, and I was mostly ambivalent at the time, but when I listen now, I really have grown to like and appreciate them. In fact, I think that this version of IWTYH could be the best one they ever did (certainly the best one I ever heard in person). The space vibe kept going through this tune (in a good way), Jerry's midi-horn lines were the perfect compliment, and another great vocal turn by Brent. Singing-wise, Brent was really feelin' it on this show. That's saying a lot, as his vocals were generally the most consistently "on" out of everybody in the band. Standing on the Moon and Attics are also very well-done. Don't let the three star rating fool you, this is a good show, just a little on the chill side (but in a good way).
